Hello dear readers. As you know from previous posts lately I am focusing on increasing my metabolism (thyroid function and metabolism overall).
One of the ways how I am trying to approach it is by making sure that I do not have any vitamin and/or mineral deficiencies. One item that I decided to include in my diet weekly is Oysters. Oysters are rich in iodine (western populations typically are deficient it it, it helps converting T4 hormone to T3), Zinc, Magnesium, Selenium and other minerals. For vitamins: B-12 is present in them in significant quantities. For drawbacks: quite rich in Iron also. So today I hunted for oysters in Riga central Market 🙂 Sales lady kindly opened oyster for me and I eat it instantly 😀 She just warned me, that wihout lemon tase is not optimal! Statement that I fully agree with, but it is still good! P.S. Another food rich in iodine is see weed. Will go for it during next “hunt”.
